Jingjing Shang, PhD, RN, OCN, FAAN
Jingjing Shang is a professor of nursing at the Columbia University School of Nursing. She has years of research experience in the HHC setting and has established strong collaborations with VNS Health. As the principal investigator, Dr. Shang oversees this project and is involved in all aspects of this pilot study, in partnership with the site PI, Ms. McDonald, at VNS Health.
Komal Patel Murali, PhD, RN, ACNP-BC
Komal Patel Murali is a co-investigator on this intramural grant. She has expertise in researching symptom burden and quality of life of seriously ill older adults, as well as implementation of palliative care to improve outcomes and support informal caregivers. Dr. Murali is involved with pilot questionnaire development, cognitive interview data collection, data analysis and dissemination.
Ashley Chastain, DrPH, MPH
Ashley Chastain is a co-investigator on this study. She has expertise in patient/caregiver and healthcare provider interactions along with mixed-methods research (qualitative interview and survey methodologies). On this study, Dr. Chastain is involved with pilot questionnaire development, participant recruitment and pilot data collection, analysis, and dissemination.
Khadra Dualeh, MPH
Khadra Dualeh is a research coordinator with the Center for Health Policy. She assists with administrative aspects of the study.
Jung Kang, MSN, RN, AGACNP-BC, AGCNS-BC
Jung Kang is pursuing a PhD in Nursing at the Columbia University School of Nursing. As a nurse researcher, she has experience with qualitative interview coding and literature reviews. On this study, Ms. Kang assists with cognitive interview data collection and participates in data analysis and dissemination.
Suning Zhao, MPH
Suning (Lily) Zhao is a recent MPH graduate from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. She serves as the junior data analyst on this study.
Charity Ogunlusi, MD, MPH
Charity Ogunlusi is a recent MPH graduate from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. As a research assistant for this study, she assists with questionnaire programming in RedCAP, participant recruitment and data analysis.
Joon Kim
Joon Kim is an MPH student in the Population & Family Health Department at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. She serves as a research assistant on this study.

VNS Health
Margaret McDonald, MSW
Margaret McDonald is the associate director of the Center for Home Care Policy & Research at VNS Health. She has 20 years of experience in community-based settings, overseeing interventions, primary data collection, and secondary data analysis activities. As a site PI, McDonald will be involved in all aspects of the study and will lead the collection of survey and qualitative data at the VNS Health site.
Lori King, MPH
Lori King is a research analyst at the Center for Home Care Policy & Research at VNS Health. She has expertise in research ethics and participant recruitment. As a research assistant on this study, King will be involved with pilot questionnaire development, participant recruitment and pilot data collection.
