Amanda Hessels, PhD, associate research scientist, presented “From Theory to Practice: Survey Considerations in Nursing Research” at Virtua Innovations in Care Conference held in Voorhees, New Jersey; “Missed Nursing Care: Predictors and Outcomes” at Ann May Center for Nursing’s 13th Annual Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice Conference held in Farmingdale, New Jersey; and “Development of Standard Precautions Vignettes to Enhance Situational Awareness and Highly Reliable Practice” at Northern New Jersey Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology held in Montclair, New Jersey.

Carolyn Sun, PhD, associate research scientist, moderated a panel titled “Increasing Efficiency and Decreasing Waste by Improving Nursing Practice and Streamlining Nursing Workflow.”
Jacqueline Merrill, PhD, professor, has accepted a second term on the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Health Policy Advisory Council (HPAC).
Patricia Stone, PhD, Centennial Professor of Health Policy and director, Center for Health Policy, presented “Moving Infection Prevention and Control Beyond the Hospital,” “Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) in Aged Care—United States Perspective,” and “Beyond 2020: What Will Infection Prevention and Control Look Like?” at the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control 2017 Conference in Canberra, Australia.
Carolyn Sun, PhD, associate research scientist, was elected to the Eastern Nursing Research Society (ENRS) Nominating Committee.
Briefs:
James Doran ’02 was reappointed by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to the New Jersey Board of Nursing. In addition, he was recently elected secretary/treasurer of the board.
