Overview
Alexandra Nowak is a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Nursing at Columbia University. She is a recipient of the NIH-NINR T32 Institutional Training Grant, “Reducing Health Disparities Through Informatics (RHeaDI)” (T32NR007969). Nowak’s research interests include decreasing health disparities through interdisciplinary, precision health research. Her doctoral research focused on neighborhood disorder and DNA methylation of stress pathway genes in preterm birth in African American women. She is a former recipient of a predoctoral fellowship on the T32 training grant (T32NRR014225), “Optimizing Health Development Across Childhood.” She also received the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Individual Predoctoral Fellowship (F31NR018363) from the National Institute of Nursing Research.
