Research Means Better Tomorrows

Researchers at Columbia University School of Nursing have made discoveries and developed new strategies to care for populations across settings, analyzing population health trends to gain insights that improve life for individuals and communities in the United States and around the world.

Columbia Nursing research has transformed health care by addressing real-world challenges and advancing solutions that promote better outcomes for all. Our scientists have studied and developed tools to screen for financial toxicity in cancer patients, walking interventions to delay cognitive decline in older Latino adults, interventions to help prevent the spread of HIV infections, and methodologies for alleviating nursing documentation burden using artificial intelligence. Work underway at Columbia Nursing is building evidence to improve shortages in the nursing workforce, treatment outcomes for those with Alzheimer’s disease, transitions from hospital to home for patients with heart failure, and so much more.

Our research improves care today and lays the foundation for a brighter tomorrow.
