
Turchioe Named New York Academy of Medicine Fellow
Assistant Professor Meghan Reading Turchioe, PhD ’18, will be inducted as a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM), the 19th Columbia Nursing faculty to be honored.
Founded in 1847, the NYAM has recognized nearly 2,000 individuals as fellows. These individuals join a community of distinguished professionals, elected by their peers, who share NYAM’s commitment to achieving health equity. This community also works together to address clinical and population health issues facing individuals and communities in New York City and cities around the world.
Turchioe was also recently inducted as a Fellow of the American Heart Association (AHA), serving on the AHA’s Council on Cardiovascular and Stroke Nursing.
Her program of research is focused on developing and implementing digital health technologies including mobile applications, wearable devices, telehealth, and artificial intelligence (AI), with the goal of developing equitable solutions, and is supported by multiple grants from the National Institutes of Health and industry,
