Dawn Dowding, PhD, VNSNY Professor Nursing, was the lead author of “Using Sense-Making Theory to Aid Understanding of the Recognition, Assessment and Management of Pain in Patients with Dementia in Acute Hospital Settings,” published in the International Journal of Nursing Studies.
Carolyn Herzig, PhD, senior project director, was the lead author of “Infection Prevention and Control Programs in US Nursing Homes: Results of a National Survey,” published in Journal of the American Medical Directors Association. Other faculty authors include Pat Stone, PhD, Centennial Professor of Health Policy, and Elaine Larson, PhD, Anna C. Maxwell Professor of Nursing Research and Professor of Epidemiology.
Lusine Poghosyan, PhD, assistant professor, was the lead author of “Practice Environments and Job Satisfaction and Turnover Intentions of Nurse Practitioners: Implications for Primary Care Workforce Capacity,” published in Health Care Management Review. Other faculty authors include Jianfang Liu, PhD, senior data analyst, and Jingjing Shang, PhD, assistant professor.
Honors and Presentations
Lusine Poghosyan, PhD, assistant professor, was cited for two of her studies in an Institute of Medicine report "Assessing Progress on the Institute of Medicine Report the Future of Nursing." She has also been named a theme leader for the Academy Health theme area of focus “Organizational Behavior and Management." In addition, she was named a 2016 Columbia Public Voice Fellow. The fellowship funds participation in the OpEd Project, which scouts and trains underrepresented experts to take thought leadership positions in their fields. The project connects fellows with a national network of top-ranking media mentors to provide direct access to media gatekeepers.
