Faculty, Alumni to Join 2024 AAN Class of Fellows

The American Academy of Nursing (AAN) will welcome several members of the Columbia Nursing community to its 2024 Class of Fellows this fall. 

The American Academy of Nursing (AAN) will welcome several members of the Columbia Nursing community to its 2024 Class of Fellows this fall. 

The following faculty will be inducted during the AAN’s annual Health Policy Conference, to be held Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2024, in Washington, DC: 

  • Veronica Barcelona, PhD, assistant professor of nursing 
  • Melissa Beauchemin, PhD ’19, assistant professor of nursing 
  • Ashley Graham-Perel, EdD, director of diversity and cultural affairs, assistant professor of nursing at CUMC 
  • Heidi Hahn-Schroeder, DNP, assistant dean of academic affairs, assistant professor of nursing at CUMC  
  • Rebecca Owens, DNP, assistant professor of clinical nursing  

The following Columbia Nursing alumni will also be inducted: 

  • Eileen Carter, PhD ’14 
  • Melissa Hladek, MS ’04 
  • S. Raquel Ramos, PhD ’16 
  • Andrea Sonenberg, PhD ’07 
  • Samantha Stonbraker, PhD ’16  
  • Edwidge Thomas, DNP ’05 
  • Jasmine Travers, PhD ’16 
  • Fabienne Ulysse, DNP ’11 

This year’s class includes fellows from 37 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and 14 countries.

With exceptional subject matter expertise, each new Fellow will be vital to achieve the Academy’s mission of improving health and achieving health equity by impacting policy through nursing leadership, innovation, and science,” AAN President Linda D. Scott, PhD, said in a press release from the academy.
