The educational video, “Filling the Gap: Safe and Effective Training for Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) in Low Resource Countries”,  proposes strategies to improve the MCH workforce to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes. It focuses on a NGO public health system in Bangladesh (GK) and the traditional birth attendants (TBAs/dais) who work collaboratively with GK.  GK has surpassed national MDG goals 4 and 5 among the 1 million people served and has achieved the goals well in advance of the nation of Bangladesh.

 

The 15 minute video is appropriate for students of nursing, public health, medicine and midwifery as well as global health policy organizations. The video presentation is complete with discussion guide and glossary.
