Patricia Stone, PhD and Monika Pogorzelska, project coordinator, selected for major awards at the June meeting of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology

Patricia Stone, PhD and Monika Pogorzelska, project coordinator, were both selected for two major awards at the June meeting of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology. The two awards are the Blue Ribbon Abstract Award for Dr. Stone's abstract, "Staffing and Structure of Infection Prevention and Control Programs in a National Sample of NHSN Hospitals" and Ms. Pogorzelska won the New Investigator Award for the abstract, "Policies and Practices for Multi-Drug Resistant Organisms in a National Sample of NHSN Hospitals." The Abstract Review Subcommittee recognizes abstracts that demonstrate exemplary scientific merit and are of high interest and relevance to the infection control community. It is unprecedented for members of the same research team to win both awards.
