Kristine M. Gebbie, RN, DrPH, the Elizabeth Standish Gill Professor of Nursing, has received the 2008 Balderson Lifetime Public Health Leadership Award from the National Public Health Leadership Development Network. The award recognizes individuals who have had national impact in the areas of public health and public health leadership throughout a long career and exemplify the qualities of Tom Balderson (dedicated, patient, ethical, positive, attentive, passionate, loyal and motivating). Tom Balderson is best remembered for his work in creating the national Public Health Leadership Institute and the National Public Health Leadership Network.
