Jennifer Dohrn, CNM, DrNP is working in collaboration with the University of KwaZulu Natal in Durban, South Africa to strengthen the education and ongoing evaluation of advanced midwifery training. The development of this model with careful assessment evaluation and ongoing monitoring will result in a model that can be replicated across South Africa. Support for this initiative is from the Atlantic Philanthropies over four years. The School of Nursing has been awarded $126,000 in consultancy fees with additional funds for travel and accommodation.
