Global Fellows Fund

Students with a young patient at a university hospital in Jamaica.

Under the direction of our Office of Global Initiatives, Columbia Nursing contributes to improving the world’s health by educating future nurses, and strengthening nursing curricula with partner nursing institutions, professional organizations in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and the Eastern Mediterranean region.

The Global Fellows Fund enables students to gain a global outlook on health issues and learn valuable cross-cultural workforce skills.  Nursing is a global profession, and at Columbia Nursing, we understand and practice nursing to reduce health inequities in a global context.

Last year, as a result of the Global Fellows Fund, students had the opportunity to pursue global educational experiences in Spain, Turkey, Jamaica, Mexico, Malawi, Ghana and Ethiopia.
