Argerie Tsimicalis, PhD, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, was awarded $2,500 from the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau for her research proposal "Testing the usability of SiSom, an interactive assessment tool, to enhance the symptom management of children with cancer in Northern Manhattan". Dr. Tsimicalis will be mentored by Drs. Pat Stone and Sue Bakken from CUSON and Dr. Cornelia Ruland from Rikshospitalet National Hospital Oslo in Norway.
May Uchida, MSN, GNP-BC received the 2011-2012 TIRAR pre-doctoral fellowship. Ms. Uchida will work to build interdisciplinary research skills that will help strengthen her dissertation that examines policy changes in infection prevention for long term care settings.
