Columbia Nursing offers two opportunities for doctoral degrees. Both share a scholarly approach and a commitment to the advancement of nursing.
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
The DNP program prepares nurse clinicians or advanced practice nurses as comprehensive care practitioners who provide fully accountable and continuous care to patients across settings and during transitions.
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
The PhD program provides a strong foundation in nursing science and research methods, enabling graduates to conduct evidence-based research independently and as part of interdisciplinary teams. Students are mentored by faculty advisors as they move toward independent investigations.
